Portlanders! Please fill out the Portland Bureau of Transportation's survey on spending priorities. The survey closes August 14.

This is your chance to have your voice heard!

(Hat tip to @lkanies for bringing this to my attention. The link above is directly to the survey, so not behind OregonLive's paywall).

Remember to go fill up my vehicle's gas tank (down below 1/2 tonight). Maui was a good reminder on why that is one of my rules I should not ignore. #DisasterPreparedness

Maybe use Software Updater? Nope, it doesn't think there are updates.

Are there? If so, how do I apply them? If not, how do I remove the notifications from the list in the snap store?

How about the snap-store update? Well, you can't update that while the snap-store is running.

Any ideas on how to install these updates?

Okay, let's try the gnome update.

It appears to be Schrödinger's update: available and not available at the same time.

Okay, I'll try opening the snap-store to look for updates.

My fresh Ubuntu install says I need some updates. Okay, but there are some problems.

First, it tells me to close the snap-store to update it, but the snap-store is not open.

This is Taz (as in: The Tasmanian Devil). He's as mad as a bag of rabbits.

His hobbies include licking snails, inhaling dandelions and then looking confused, chewing socks (and the feet in them), spinning round in circles for unclear reasons, barking at the vacuum cleaner, and sleeping.

Yesterday he did a poo on our carpet so now he's bringing me his frog toy by way of an apology.

I love him so much. #dogsofmastodon

@SwiftOnSecurity Reminds me of people from a startup I talked to years back. They were a sort of aggregator for wedding-wishlists (you make your wishlist adding stuff from many different sites, your guests can pitch in and buy stuff from it for you). Their "aggregation algorithms", but for adding stuff to the list and buying it, were an office-full of people in SE Asia, clicking as fast as they could while you were shown a loading wheel in the USA.

A broken clock fixed by taping a working clock over it is a metaphor for every codebase you’ll encounter in your professional career as a software developer.

The Portland Indie Game Squad is hosting "Summer Slow Jams". I'm going to be participating in the next one:
