As much as we try to REDUCE, Reuse, and recycle, we occasionally need things. But how to shop?

Brick and mortar is largely dead. I could spend hours driving around to stores and not find what I'm after.

Ten years ago, I could shop on the internet, reading plausible reviews.

Now, all of that us buried in a sea of paid advertising. Web searches for "best ___" turn up nothing but auto-generated listicles from fly-by-night sites and links to Amazon.

How can I find a small kitchen appliance, electronic gadget, or other household item that won't end up in the landfill the week after I receive it?

XORcism.

Wear safety goggles and a helmet

Shoot wildly towards the sky

Guess what? Any plastic marked with this symbol (for "recyclable") is not, in fact, recyclable. & stands for "OTHER" aka "everything else", and despite having a "recyclable" symbol in it, is not actually recyclable. #recycling #greenwashing

3. Pinecone.

As luck would have it, this was one of the items in the book I'm working through (Howard, 101 Textures in Colored Pencil).

What if I told you the goal of care tasks can be to make the situation better, not to make things perfect or "tidy" or "clean."

Are there 15 dishes in the sink? Cleaning 3 of them is a success.

Is the bedding falling off the bed? You don't have to make it, tuck it in. Job done.

Teeth feeling a bit weird. Rince OR brush OR floss. One is better than none
