Why is every election like

RT @gengelstein
Until recently I never truly grasped that the fundamental social contract of Democracy is that the losers of elections accept the results and graciously cede power.

Board games are a critical part of teaching that lesson to children.

A short thread.

Saw the perennial question of "why not use the Eagles to take the Ring to Mordor?" and there are lots of fine explanations, but my favorite has always been that b/c the Eagles are so powerful, they would've been corrupted by the Ring, eaten Frodo, and become Dark Bird Gods.

Hi hive mind! Does anyone have any good learning resources for managing complex dialogue systems? Particularly interested in how games like Stardew Valley track dialogue around world events and a large number of NPCs.

Best thing I found on the internet last year I think. Some real rocket scientists built a replica Gary Larson rocket that actually flew quite well.

Python is a little tricky because it doesn't have if statements, but I think this is a good alternative.
