#Violet got her wish of everyone staying home, but she doesn't understand why we got out of bed. #DogsOfMastodon
It's very disheartening to see that in the space of a month, the majority of images on my feed went from being described to having not even one sentence as a description. I started ID-ing on tumblr but #Mastodon really encouraged me to make it an actual habit.
Please, if you're able to, add descriptions to the pics you post.

1. Put in four hours at the Joint Office of Homeless Services warehouse moving tents, sleeping bags, etc.
2. All prepared to be unable to leave the house tomorrow.
3. Access to more games than I could ever find time to play.
Showers taken. Dishes caught up. Devices charging. Fire laid. Faucets slowly dripping. Candles, matches, and flashlights strategically distributed. I think we're as ready as we can be for the inevitable power outage.
So grateful to have shelter and hoping that everyone outside found their way to a warm place.
I have a small number of people (e.g., IRL friends) that I want to see everything about, including what those people boost and (public or unlisted) replies they make.
Clicking on the "notification" bell for these people doesn't show me their replies or boosts. Adding them to a list (this may be @QOTO specific) doesn't show me their replies (except possibly to people I follow).
Is there any way to do this other than in my Home timeline? It seems that, if I don't want to have stuff from this inner circle swamped by the people and hashtags I follow in my "second tier", I have to add the latter to another list and NOT follow them, which seems ... awkward.
Is that the right approach?
What video game should I play?
Constraints:
- This will be on Windows.
- I'm particularly interested in either (a) a wargame that's about maneuvering my units rather than climbing a tech tree or diploming with seven other factions or (b) something where I'm operating a vehicle (car, spaceship, whatever) but that is easier than actually getting a pilot's license.
- I'm not interested in retro games.
Shoutout to everyone working in grocery stores as #Portland stocks up for #Snowmageddon.
1. Got groceries and moved some wood inside, so I'm ready for the storm.
2. Our copy of Votes for Women arrived.
3. Finally won a game of Mandala.
