Low-key hoping the mimic is the best part of the upcoming D&D movie and becomes a running gag in the series. I imagine it will be voiced by someone like Patton Oswalt or Aubrey Plaza. "Nope, not a mimic. Come closer and open me up. All kind of shiny coins in here."

I love fine bindings. The craftsmanship of a good book. My problem is that the texts I love rarely are dressed in leather and hand marbled endpapers— There are a few — but many finely bound books aren’t the best books. I don’t want a copy of IDK “The Great Gatsby” or whatever.

So I love to find blank books— blank pages bound with such care and art that no sane person would throw that book away whatever the contents.

#2735 Coordinate Plane Closure

3D graphs that don't contact the plane in the closure area may proceed as scheduled, but be alert for possible collisions with 2D graph lines that reach the hole and unexpectedly enter 3D space.

Doctor: Well, there's nothing seriously wrong with your heart, but we should probably replace the strings and the cockles.

Hey Oregonians, there is a state bill under consideration that would provide rebates for purchases of electric bikes, and comments are sought. I spent a few minutes writing to register my enthusiastic support for this bill. They’re taking testimony for only another day…speak up now! olis.oregonlegislature.gov/liz

From the 104-page online comprehensive rulebook for the CCG Flesh and Blood:

"A card can only be included in a player’s deck if the
card’s supertypes are a subset of their hero’s supertypes."

@stevestreza
It follows the Stranger Danger evolution
Roughly,

1980- Don't get in cars with strangers
1995- Don't give out your personal information online
2010- Summon strangers from the internet so you can get in their car

2000-2005: Blogs are great and so are comments!
2005-2010: Blogs are still great but comments are not.
2010-Present: What if we didn't have blogs but just had a website full of nothing but comments?

If I search for "java string api" (no quotes) on Google, Bing, or Qwant, they give me a link to the documentation ... for version 7. We're now on version 19, which doesn't show up on the first page.

Why? Why would a search engine do that?
