@lauren I know it's not your article but this is such a terribly-written headline. Are they rejecting funding, which allows them to preserve their nonprofit status, or are they rejecting funding which would allow them to preserve their nonprofit status?
Those are two completely opposite interpretations of the same wording of this headline. #Journalists need to #DoBetter.
@tw While you're technically correct, I believe the first reading would be by far the more common one. But yes, more precision in headlines is useful.
@lauren the first time I saw the headline I legitimately did not understand which one they meant.
