People touting their "flying cars" are just selling, so it appears to me, small helicopters and small airplanes. A flying car would need some whole new technology. Or at least something on the order of a VTOL jet but compressed to car size. But this:

@JohnShirley2023 Honestly, recreate the Messerschimidt KR200 in carbon fiber, stick big horizontal fans at each corner, run it all on a standard drone microcontroller and you're done. You wouldn't even need mechanical driver controls, just an iphone dash mount and an app.
