Used a soldering iron for the first time in my life and fixed a crappy plastic toy by resoldering the battery to the contacts on the PCB. Right now I feel like a cross between Alan Turing and Isembard Kingdom Brunel. 💪🤓

Pure stream of consciousness here (probably to do with a particularly funny scene with George Innes as a very amenable railway engine driver), but if you haven't seen the 1975 BBC telefilm adaptation of Three Men In A Boat, dir Stephen Frears, screenplay Tom Stoppard, with Tim Curry and Michael Palin, well, do. I now find to my considerable surprise it's available on the Internet Archive.
