Our haste to rush children into potentially irreversible medicalization of what is often a socialization issue is going to bite us --- and more importantly them -- in the ass. Demonizing even basic confirmatory counselling as "conversion therapy" is particularly disturbing. It's like they don't want the child's mental health even contemplated before directing them to hormones and surgery.
