I’m re-reading “Quarantine: It All Started the Night the Stars Went Out” bc it seems to have many layers of prophecy & is one of my favorites (Also wrote this poem based on some lines in the book)
@carlysagan Good god, I think of this book all the time. It's wild how its ideas infiltrate your thinking pretty much forever.
@pieist haha it definitely is consciousness raising or something 😂 I couldn’t get into any of his other books tho - did you read and like any others?
@carlysagan The other one that really pops into my head unexpectedly is Diaspora. If you have an interest in machine intelligence, astrophysics, multidimensionality (gets rather spooky there) determinism and whether subjectivity and/or consciousness actually mean anything..
@carlysagan Hmm... to be fair Permutation City infiltrates my thinking a lot as well. And Schild's Ladder...
If it helps, @gregeganSF is on here and he's very worth a follow.
@pieist definitely follow him already! Ty for the recs, will try Diaspora again
