Main jist from astro-sat conference today:
Space is “nothing” - so we can trash it.
Space is “self-cleaning” - so we can trash it.
Space is “huge” - so we can trash it.
This is all just a repetition of how humans initially viewed the wilderness and we just shouldn’t be this stupid. Then again, it’s space bros running all of this, so, boy math.

@carlysagan I used to wonder why we weren't already developing the solar system. I mean, essentially free energy, metals, gases and hydrocarbons in virtually unlimited quantities.
Now I'm actually glad we're not. I'm on the verge of rooting for industrial civilization to fail BEFORE we get off-planet.
@pieist same. I used to be space-crazy and wanted to be an astronaut. I don’t wanna be an astronaut anymore 😢😂 wanting to live on Mars while we turn Earth into Mars is just peak insanity
