@morgfair Hell and damnation. At least an actual newspaper is covering it, which at least makes it harder for the industry and tame Feds to continue to say it's not happening.
And why is "Ohio" always synonymous with "industrial poisoning"?
"America: Not yet so absurd that you can't even make fun of it."
I like that better than E Pluribus Unum. At least you know what it means.
@kjhealy British satirists must be weeping in despair by now. How do you parody any of this anymore?
RT @rbreich
Just a thought: what if we stopped measuring the economy by the state of the stock market and started measuring it based on how many people are housed and clothed and fed?

@moh_kohn But mmmm! Tasty sovereignty! Come back for as many helpings as you like!
I did an analysis of Tweets about the 15 minute city conspiracy. You can read it here https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1628105064890998785.html #15minutecities #15minutecity #disinformation
@harphat Well, mine appears to be back, none the worse for wear. Still assiduously avoiding the humane traps i've put out, and I've baited them with something I know he loves. Only caught the first time by sort of driving him into one, he'd avoided them for days before that.
OTOH for the most part I've been so busy that I haven't even thought about this until now.

Yeah, and a lot more obscure stuff. Hoogerbrugge's flash animations --now practically unplayable -- for example. Ditto a lot of RealMedia stuff. I have a CD full of that from a friend who produced it for UK online university radio and nothing that can even play it now.
@opiejeanne @Popehat I miss my turn-of-the-millennium web 1.0 content. Some of it is gone forever, even the Internet Archive doesn't have it.
@opiejeanne @Popehat You have no chance to survive make your time.
@Popehat Move "Zig"
@minouette Something about this fills me with a very particular fury. I often rack my brains to come up with some ingenious way to pressure China to clamp down on this irremediable horror.
February 16 is #WorldPangolinDay to draw attention to the plight of the world’s most trafficked animals, these magnificent scaly mammals. There 8 species of #pangolin in Africa & Asia, all endangered, threatened by poachers for their meat & scales (used in traditional medicines) & by habitat loss & deforestation. This is the largest: the ground pangolin. I made him patterned & colourful to draw attention to him & his kin.

@ottocrat Seemed likely somehow 😜.
Pure stream of consciousness here (probably to do with a particularly funny scene with George Innes as a very amenable railway engine driver), but if you haven't seen the 1975 BBC telefilm adaptation of Three Men In A Boat, dir Stephen Frears, screenplay Tom Stoppard, with Tim Curry and Michael Palin, well, do. I now find to my considerable surprise it's available on the Internet Archive.
@ottocrat Speaking of Brunel, don't know if this is quite your thing, but here's John Betjeman talking about the Great Western Railway. Rather a lot about Brunel in it. Something of a fave of mine.
