But I agree that a drag ban is unprincipled. But they do need to exercise some discernment, look into the background of some of these folks and ask... why do they want to do this, why is their kink central to their desire to do this, and what is their established relationship to children?

If some actually pass that sort of scrutiny, hey, let 'em knock themselves out and read a book to kids without involving their penises. If they can.

Can't argue with that.

Still can't get past the whole "need to present my sexual expression to prepubescent children in an apparently innocuous setting" thing. Or the startling number of child sex offenders involved. Or the whole "hanging a dildo in front of my crotch while I gyrate for children in a public library" thing.
