The raccoons in my neighborhood are friendly and fearless (if there aren't dogs around) when they come to your back door. It's pretty clear that some of my neighbors are feeding them. i really hate having to chase them off but it's best for them if I do.

@beebrookshire Youtube and other social media need to stop rewarding people who generate traffic by interacting irresponsibly with wildlife. It's always the wildlife that pays the price.

Elizabeth Holmes has graciously turned herself in for her prison sentence. What a gal.

Meanwhile poor and/or black people spend two or more years in Rikers without a trial any time a cop has a beef with them.

At any point did anyone ask McCarthy to enumerate the Federal spending in Red states he wanted cut? Because most of them are taker states, receiving more in federal dollars than they remit in taxes.

@bruces Yes we should totally take it as seriously as we do those things as well as, say, climate change. That'll do the trick.

@SeanJones Still, I can't help noticing that you don't identify a fault in the approach.

@tomlevenson I'd like to see an autosuggest that redlines entire clauses that serve no purpose. And make everyone use it.

When i see something that begins, e.g.,"Let me just start by saying" I stop reading right there. Also if I encounter an "in any way, shape or form" or equivalent.

@morgfair Yesterday it was full-on Oprah, "you get a nuke, you get a nuke, everybody gets a nuke" and the next day he's down? If it's polonium poisoning that'd be perfect.

This scenario is why Daniel Dennett is right theatlantic.com/technology/arc to say that the act of counterfeiting people is the great danger and that it should be illegal. Do whatever else you want with your AI; you should not be allowed to create fake humans for purposes of deception. infosec.exchange/@jerry/110402

remember when this guy fired Iceland's person of the year, mocked him for his disability, then belatedly realized the dude was on a "DO NOT FIRE" list because he was the founder of a company Twitter acquired and so firing him would cost a staggering sum of money?

@Ruth_Mottram This is why I have a lot of awkward moments in very seafood-focused places like coastal Spain and Japan. I won't eat octopus and I can't be in the room when anyone else does. I'm still pescatarian (just) but I won't eat an intelligent being.

@ct_bergstrom
"These academic scientists have lost touch with public reality. Who thinks I should do the science?"

@m @vicgrinberg The one with the the little frog in the improbable poses is notorious for that. Poor little things.

@LouisIngenthron Unless like me you're exempted by the Treaty of Utrecht, as is everyone with a ginger moustache.

@almostconverge You forgot to allow for whether they wear an earring, which skews it by almost .04 %.

I confess I'm instablock with people who state things they just made up as fact.
