Regarding the frenzy surrounding ChatGPT and other AI-based "content" generators:

I don't recall the same kind of panicky coverage when the first robots were deployed in manufacturing plants.

Perhaps this is because blue-collar jobs were at risk then, as opposed to white-collar jobs -- journalists' in particular -- now?

Great callout, but I keep thinking of the Luddites, and how they were right. They saw technology displacing their work and they were 100% correct. Today we use the label to describe backward-thinking people who resist progress, and sure, maybe direct action wasn’t the best approach, but at least we remember them!
