I think this is exactly what I described: "her entire adult life" doesn't appear in the question as phrased. The questioner is arguably upset as much by the deceit she believes is involved as anything else. So yes, clueless and lacking in self-awareness, but not enough to ask a direct question worded the way the headline words it.

She describes "two bombshells," which are first, "She lied about going for social work," and second, "she has zero plans of moving home and taking over Josh’s care after college and that I’ll have to “figure it out.”" So yeah, that's lacking self-awareness, and the headline is *fair* but still clickbait, I mean, the mom says, "I’m heartbroken that I’ve raised such a selfish kid, and that she would choose money over our family, and over loving her brother. I also have no idea how I’m going to arrange for Josh’s care as I get older." She's in a tough spot! Too tough, apparently, for her to see her own selfishness. But she never actually directly asked the question in the headline.

@KingShawn Without seeing the column, I'm guessing that the headline is a dramatic rephrasing of the *actual* question, which carefully avoided any sentences that would trigger self-awareness. The purpose of the rephrasing, of course, is to lure in readers who wonder how anyone could possible be so lacking in self-awareness. Then you read the actual question, and maybe the headline is a fair summary, or maybe not, but it's definitely clickbait.

@eosfpodcast That entire series should be the #1 best seller. Her newer one, *The City We Became* is also incredible, and very different.

@Adam_Cadmon1 It’s up there with Sunshine as a go-to for me. If I hadn’t already made plans to watch *Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon* later today, I’d have to… hmm… maybe I can watch both! 😀

@Adam_Cadmon1 Pitch Black is an *amazing* movie, though. It breaks no new ground, but is basically perfect, in my view. Simple and predictable and great.

Then, yeah, things got strange.

@asymco I’ve been driving a Fiat 500e (range: 84 miles) for a couple of years now, and we rented a car for road trips. Now I also have a Chevy Bolt EUV (range: 243 miles) so *some* road trips are more feasible, but I will likely still rent a car for very long road trips.

The “new car” is part of the trip experience!

@jjLitke 100% agree about trolls and other bad actors. The good news is that we’ll get quote-posts, it’s on the dev list now. Yay!

Clicking to see numbers is mostly a function of federation, hard to solve technically.

Search is both a technical federation issue and a cultural one, so I’m not sure whether that’s harder or easier. Would sure be nice, though!
