Got a glass water bottle recently. Glass is more odourless than plastic, and I've discovered that any odour is FAR more noticeable in glass than plastic, and the bottle starts smelling musty relatively fast, so I've been putting lemon juice in my water (as well as washing the bottle, obvs). So I was thinking, surely there's like, water flavourers you can buy for this exact purpose - anyway, I just invented cordial

I've been using a glass bottle for at least 10 years.
I wash it maybe a couple times a year.
Never had any smell coming from it.
I guess maybe it's something in your water, or the gasket of the bottle
