Yes, I can imagine that's the case
Here luckily the character limits are generally more forgiving, I hope this habit will disappear soon

Dai ragazzi, che qui su qoto c'è stati un sacco di errori 500 ultimamente; non fatemi pentire di essermene andato dall'Italia

Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) A tutorial by Federico Marini and B. Walczak

It's 13 pages total and quite a pleasant read
It has a few examples which have been very useful in my case, but it is applied to chemometrics thus if you don't work in that field you might find the example of little use

I noticed one thing after a lot of people came here from Twitter.
People are using a lot!
I have not used Twitter extensively and thus never got used to them, but here on Mastodon the use of hashtags is generally limited as well.
People generally add one or two hashtags at the beginning or the end of the toot in order to make it searchable.
People who arrived here from Twitter are using a bunch of hashtags, most of those are words inside the sentences they're writing.
Sometimes there's even more hashtags than actual words...

I'm not sure about this approach, it may just be me, since I'm not used to this style.
But I feel that tagging the toot with a couple categories at the end is better:
- it makes the toot more readable
- the categories are immediately recognizable
- you don't have to use specific words in your sentence just for the tagging

In my in a are

@freeschool
I can choose whom to work with, I don't waste my time with people who do not organise themselves.
Unless those people are my clients, in that case I am paid to be organised in their place

@freeschool
I am supposed to work with professional people who know how to use a clock, not with children

@freeschool
That is a good idea when it is possible; however it's quite useless when it would be 1 week and 3 hours from now...
Moreover UTC works quite well, you just have to use it or at least specify the time difference in the place where you're at

Finally reading an introductory article about Particle Swarm Optimization.
It's been on my to-do list for way too long, it's very interesting and my first introduction to social optimization algorithms.
The article I found is quite nice, simple to understand and broadly outlines some modifications and alternatives to this method.
Thank you Federico Marini

Cosa c'è domenica al forte?
Comunque dubito, ho già altri piani.

@trinsec
Oh, well...
I wonder how a computer from Sweden reached Italy!
@faticake

@trinsec
Is this Dutch? I bought this laptop years ago and I'm still wondering what keyboard this is...

Ho trovato questa estensione per #Firefox che reindirizza all'istanza prescelta ogni volta che si vuole interagire con un toot esterno, in modo da non dover scrivere ogni volta il proprio nick nel popup: github.com/rugk/mastodon-simpl

@jens
These are in fact decent solutions, however until something like this is not available I believe it would be best to publish the block list

@trinsec
Great to know!
Right now I'm supposed to go work (or stay remote) in Romania.
That also looks interesting: I've never been there and my Romanian friends tell me the city where I'm supposed to go is very nice.

Life is also cheaper, so I would have to take that into account; however that doesn't work if I am to stay remote

@jens
Yes, having a message like that would be nice.
Unfortunately that is not how mastodon works: if one user in the conversation is blocked you do not see his messages nor all the replies it receives.
Thus if you open a thread from the beginning you will miss all conversations where a blocked user wrote something
If you open a thread towards the end, you will be unable to retrieve the original toot if a blocked user wrote in the middle

@trinsec
Yes, actually quite well
The only problem is that the company is from the Netherlands but I'm supposed to work in another country and they told me that the pay there would be lower...
We didn't discuss salaries since it was a bit difficult talking for me, next week we'll have a discussion on that since I do not understand why they would have to pay me less
Otherwise they can always send me to the Netherlands or Denmark...

Fellow site admins, is there a good working way out there to share domain blocks? It’s a tricky topic, I know, but it would be nice to share/discuss with other site admins.
