LB: That bit about COVID raising autoimmune disease risks is what passively terrifies me most.

I already have all sorts of weird autoimmune crap going on - when I get stressed, my body starts attacking me like mad. Either it goes overboard and I blister all over my hands and feet and get canker sores, or it gives up and I end up with shit like shingles.

Not good.

Hm~ this made me realize that I don't really know whether acquiring one autoimmune problem makes acquiring other more likely (and I wonder how one can try to tell, given that likely there are confounders that are hard to notice and that make acquiring autoimmune issues more likely).

@robryk I don't really either. I DO know that a lot of friends with one diagnosed syndrome tend to have a cluster of them. Whether that's just a bad sample or anything real is anyone's guess, but I'd say this instead:

If you've experienced one painful set of things where your body is attacking itself, you definitely don't want to risk the misery of others.
