Having this wild conversation with some US MDs on here, and I had NO idea how freaking huge the debt they have to take on is (I knew it was bad, but...wow) or how limited their choices are when they are training.
I mean, seriously. It's WILD.

What kinds of choices do you refer to? Things like finding a place for residency?
@robryk That's part of it. But also, taking out hundreds of thousands in debt to pay for med school. And that limits your choices when you leave, because you have to make enough to pay that back.
