PC that is located in an inconvenient place that you want to avoid having to lug a CRT to, and that for some reason is hard to attach a serial console to (maybe because any available device that could be used as a terminal also includes a CRT that's unwieldy to move).
(Somewhat relatedly, I still remember that a particular single-floppy distro that I was using on a PC acting as a router at my school would beep out melody of Yesterday on i/o errors when reading the floppy.)
