@rrb @stephlamy @joncamfield might be good to discuss logging defaults on the servers, and kind of retention policies are in place. Is there a common way instances are meant to disclose this? Happy to say I am using Husky on Android, which has built in proxy features to make always running through Orbot/Tor quite easy.

@n8fr8 @stephlamy @joncamfield

I actually think that the local vs. federated issues would be attractive for many things.

It would be interesting to contrast fediverse with matrix/element features as well.

@rrb Husky: f-droid.org/en/packages/su.xas happy with it so far... I may do a survey of which fediverse apps support easy proxying, as well, with instructions on how to. It would be interesting to have an entire onion-only fediverse perhaps, but that means servers also need to know how to connect to other servers over Tor. Is that in the guide?

@n8fr8

Looks to me like they are only looking at making the client connection to an .onion. Which would be useful for having local comms private. Would require users understanding scoping differences for the fediverse. But would still be attractive. Have wanted an oinion Mastodon for a whille, but don't have the man-power right now.
