One of the distinctly Twitter-related posting habits I have built up that does not make any sense to carry over into Mastodon is my tendency to avoid explicitly naming controversial topics or people in order to avoid replies from trolls who search for posts that mention them. There is no search function here. It's not like Glenn Greenwald is going to jump out at me from behind a bush.
