I'll put it this way to avoid being too technical: On the debt ceiling talks, my considered opinion is that Biden should tell McCarthy and his cronies to jump in a lake.
@lauren I always thought they should stop spending money in the congressional districts of the people fighting for defaults. No social security checks, or FAA keeping airports open. Leave open the districts that approve of paying bills. I think these people would change their minds quickly.
I just think that if instead of getting a Social security check, the voters get a letter from Social Security telling them that they can not get paid because their congressman is not authorizing the debt ceiling, the congressman will get deluged with angry voters and cave quickly. Or, imagine the impact on GA and TX when ATL and DFW close.
It would make the consequences of the detb default very real, very quickly. I am weighing the consequences for that minority in those districts vs the consequences for the country as a whole.
The other side is disingenuous 100% of the time. I think they should face the consequences of their stupidity sometimes.
