Here in Leipzig one of our local historical figures is Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz (1646–1716) [statue on left], most famous as the inventor of the butter cookie [right].

@rupertoverall @rlmcelreath Leibniz conjectured the cookie but it took almost 200 years for someone to come up with a proof.
