My sense is this is about 60% of what was needed in a statement aimed at adequately addressing the infamy of hosting an event in the name of Agile in Ron Desantis’ Florida. There’s no naming of the harms to female, gay or trans Floridians; there’s no “Yeah, Florida’s unacceptable rn.” What say you, @GeePawHill @RonJeffries ?

Of course part of the reason they can’t say who is that some members of the Alliance and community love DeSantis’s Florida.
@GeePawHill @RonJeffries @sakhavi @agilealliance: Not to be petty in comparison, it took me a moment to realize “Code of Conduct” was a link…I’d say that’s an accessibility (inclusion) issue that should be cheap and easy to fix - underline, maybe increased font-weight, both, something. (Borrow the styling from my site, whatever.)
I too am curious about ‘24 and ‘25, mainly for the popcorn.
I’m coming to grips with the notion that, when distilled, what made Agile special was that it wasn’t.

It may be all that can be done, but it's not making me shout hurrah. And forward from 2026?? What about 2024, 2025, 2026?
I am more sanguine about this than GeePaw, I think, but I am very far from satisfied. I can see how they'd be unable to pull out without big financial trouble. It's hard to choose to destroy the Alliance.
Maybe there need to be community allies and guardians, kind of crowd-sourced security. Maybe people shouldn't go.
