@MartinEscardo To me, the system here kind of has a tumblr vibe (although I'm new enough that there may be different nuance in how people do it). Boosting is like reblogging without comment, quote-tooting (where permitted†) is loosely akin to reblogging with comment, and since tumblr is not aggressively algorithm-driven (though likes are visible in some cases), favoriting a toot more or less corresponds to likes *on tumblr*.

†my server has QTing but I learned yesterday that it doesn't notify the person quoted (maybe this is true to twitter; it's been a while since I was on there much, but it is very unlike the above similarities to tumblr) so @MartinEscardo
