@stux my 12 year old calls everyone, including me and his mother, "bro". It drives me crazy. Other terms, like "dude", don't bother me as much, but "bro" just strikes a nerve.

Religion, homophobia, the pope

Pope Francis getting applause and praise for literally just saying “I think it should be illegal to murder someone just because they’re gay” really highlights how low the bar is for Catholicism

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Those who do learn from history are doomed to watch it repeated by those who didn’t.

If I have to prove I'm not a computer by identifying traffic lights and busses, perhaps we're not quite ready for self-driving cars.

--Oh and Florida banning (banning!) AP African American history ought to be enough of a mask off moment to wake up anyone who thought this was about some kind of historically unstable, politically charged courses. This is the got dammed college board and all the most moderate of moderate and boring voices in history.

So cannon you could put balls in it and sink a ship.

I can only assume they want young people to learn literal myths and legends. Chopped cherry trees and all instead.

Please don’t confuse what is legal with what is right. There is some overlap, of course, but not as much as one might think. Laws are generally written by the rich and powerful to protect their interests, often at the expense of the poor and weak. Many atrocities are lawful, and many acts of mercy are unlawful. I say this as an attorney.

So we recently made a Fedora Workstation t-shirt highlighting some of the key projects we created or work on as part of @fedora Workstation namely @PipewireP , @containertoolbx , @BoxesGNOME, @FlatpakApps. If you boost this you will be added to a drawing to get one. (Giving out 5 here and 5 on twitter)

@jwhevans yesterday, I might have agreed with you. After tonight, I'll take aikman any day over those two.

@brexton dear God, you're a life saver. They were driving me insane.

This playoff game is terrible, and being forced to listen to the Manning brothers is making it worse. How did these two ever convince someone to put them on air?

@profchander I'm only watching at this point to see how many he misses

OK, language weirdness question.

Someone recently said:

"I just about caught the train."

Did they catch it or not? Perhaps it depends whether you think of English as (one of) your first language(s).

As always, if you're happy to do so I'd be grateful if you'd boost for reach, and to get beyond my circle of followers.

Thank you!
