My 10 year old told me about some programming they did in their technology class at school. I was asked if I wrote any programs when I was a kid. This eventually led to me trying to explain gwbasic to a child who grew up using touch screens and voice commands.
It's been a while since I felt this old.

1) the snakes are venomous, not poisonous. 2) going for a hike down south is a bit more adventure than it was up north. We had snakes, but you rarely saw them. Down here, people are telling me I'm going to see them all the time.

The idealism of youth is an amazing thing. Google’s founders used to write essays about how immoral search results full of ads were and people used to call Microsoft “evil” because you couldn’t download the source code for Windows or Office.
It all seems so quaint now.

Today's shot comes from a magical day in the Scottish #Highlands, a few years ago, when I was photographing red squirrels.
These charming characters are incredibly agile and can jump great distances between trees.
Here I managed to capture one as it appears to be flying down my lens.

You know the drill by now. I don't like talking about Black history. Americans know Black history. I want to talk about white American history. In other words, racism, and the erasure of both positive achievements of, and injustices suffered by, non-white people. That's what people don't know.
Try this: Ask your white US friends what the statue of liberty celebrates.
Now ask your Black friends. Or French folk of any color.
