@seislologist it also appears to be much shallower.
@ulixes_lactanis @seislologist This looks to be east of Fiji i.e. closer to Tonga - it locates almost right on the Tonga Trench. And with a shallow reverse rupture this is more likely to be a subduction interface event which is different to yesterday’s (deep with normal rupture mechanism - within the down-going slab).
@ulixes_lactanis @seislologist On closer inspection* I think @ALomax is correct - it’s just to the east of the trough so it can’t be on the interface 🤔 (*apparently it helps to put your glasses on when locating earthquakes).
