MeWe claims to be the biggest de-centralized social network (blockchain/Web3).
@sergeant It's all about semantics. Mastodon, and the Fediverse at large, is technically not really "decentralized". Rather, it's a way for different centralized social networks to communicate and interact. Your instance (qoto.org) still depends on a central server to function. Really decentralized systems, such as bittorrent, don't require central servers but have all users' local computers communicate directly with each other.

@sergeant By switching to something like WeMe I guess 😀 . ActivityPub is fundamentally a federation protocol, and hence not decentralized. Modifying it to make it decentralized essentially means starting from scratch, at which point it makes more sense to use something that already exists, such as [DNSP](https://dsnp.org/), which is the protocol used by WeMe.
