New York City Gargoyles!

They are the watchers.

They are the keepers.

They are the winged fold.

Can't argue with this.

Here's an SD upscale of something I posted a while ago... it's not *very* different from the original, but it's got some sharper details to it now. ( I'm thinking those 'eyes' probably shoot out destructive lasers like Cyclops from X-men.😉)

I am not okay about them ending #StarTrek #Discovery. Knowing they had to do reshoots to give it an ending tells me that it isn't going to get the ending it deserves. I don't subscribe to the insane idea that Discovery didn't have fans. It did the impossible and got my dad, a boomer who usually hates everything that brings others joy, back into Trek. It introduced my husband to a franchise so dear to me and now he loves and has watched them all. Discovery has fans and we're being tossed aside.

Here is a selection of paintings from Africa which feature the kora, a traditional stringed musical instrument common in West Africa.

The mastodon.social server is currently under a heavy DDOS attack and may not work properly.

The 12,164 other servers on the network are unaffected.

This is part of the reason why federated networks are a good idea: if one server goes down, the others work fine.

The more spread out we are on small and medium sized servers, the harder it is for anyone to take down the network because there's no obvious target.

There are also many other reasons why federation is good: https://fedi.tips/why-is-the-fediverse-on-so-many-separate-servers

tern @1goodtern -
Another massive holy cow huge piece of news, so this will probably get about ten likes and disappear into the twitterhole:

CDC say this: "the virus that causes COVID-19, can have lasting effects on nearly every organ and organ system of the body weeks, months, and potentially years after infection"

How the fuck is this not news everywhere?
