It's $1 a pound for #shredding at my local mailbox store. Might sit out in the garden with a shredder instead give I'm up to around 30 pounds of old bank statements.
Also, apparently I did NOT need to keep every tax return I have filed since high school.
Update: shredder in the garden, 30 minutes, and only got through my 2009 tax paperwork--and have enough shredded paper mulch for the whole garden. Looks like I'm paying for shredding or waiting for a free shred day.
@shuttersparks I'm just going to pony up for shredding, as soon as I'm not contagious I'll haul them off.
