A Content Warning on a political post makes no sense. It's not inherently offensive or NSFW.
A hashtag, in contrast, let's people find it if they're interested in politics or filter it out if they're not.
My advice: use #politics, not CW's.

@truthsandwich Agreed. I'm training myself to use the tags politics, usa, and uspol. I don't put content warnings on purely political stuff.
I did put one CW today on something I found offensive but it was not so much political as disgusting behavior by that "pastor" who thinks the gay bar killings are great.

Sure, that's different. Politics in itself isn't offensive. Bigotry is.
