(personal opinion) Very (very) unimpressed by the downplaying of the attacks in Moore County, NC by their local law enforcement, which calls it "vandalism" and also said they already cleared the anti-vaxxer (former Army psyops officer) who claimed they knew who did it and who is also behind the protests/hate against the "drag queen" show there. Coordinated attack against multiple electrical substations goes under the "domestic terrorism" heading in the emergency management book.

@ai6yr I completely agree. Perhaps the downplaying is intentional and possibly recommended by someone like the FBI.

After 9/11, I was involved in a little informal study where several engineers put their head together to think up vulnerabilities and how terrorists might attack easy targets that have large effects. We quickly came up with a lot of ideas, so many that it was disturbing to all of us. We also identified various ways foreign terrorists could get into the country undetected.

Since none of those things happened in the following years, we concluded that DHS is doing a pretty good job and that nobody is seriously trying. Domestic / home grown terrorism, on the other hand, is very different and a much worse problem.
