New Congress, New Agenda:

Since republicans will no doubt, begin wreaking havoc, the minute congress convenes:

How about democrats begin by healing the divide in America?

Stop polarizing us, and state the facts.

Less than 1% of all Americans have abortions.

30% of NRA members are democrats.

30% of Americans own at least one gun.

Pro Choice also protects the right to not have an abortion.

Outright condemn liars and MAGA thugs in congress.

#EthicsIntegrityTruthCongress

Seriously, America is nowhere near as divided as our elected officials and media companies make it appear.

Most of us want great education for our kids, great paying jobs, affordable healthcare, goods, food, homes, cars, gas, and college.

Most of us want less gun violence, and safe streets.

Most of us want corporate America to stop price gouging us.

Most of us think there is a problem when billionaires earn more money in a day, than most of us earn in 100 lifetimes.

@politicalfinger

Most of us want the government to actually STOP #Covid by handing out #N95 and #P100 masks, requiring masks in public places, putting #HEPA filters in public buildings,....

....instead, people are getting routinely infected at doctor's offices. This is a problem.

@neroden @politicalfinger Yes, voters want strict masking requirements and governors have the power to do that and a lot more, already authorized by the Supreme Court long ago.

But, the voters don't call the shots in this country and governors are afraid to use their power because they fear a minority will take up guns and start a civil war.

So here we are, still held hostage even after two million Americans have died.

violence, uspol, COVID

@shuttersparks @neroden @politicalfinger They also assume people aren't willing to return fire in such a civil war, though.

(I'm still curious whether early in the pandemic, someone could've successfully claimed self defense in a stand your ground state if you shot someone who was unmasked and in your face.)

violence, uspol, COVID

@bhtooefr @politicalfinger @neroden Good question. It might be that the population of states with stand-your-ground laws see anti-masking as even more important than gun rights.

Here in West Virginia, masks were seen as a sign of weakness and unmanliness, a direct attack on manhood. Lol.
