@Craktok @atomicpoet You cannot draw a line in the sand on private property. Twitter belongs to Elmo and Elmo can do whatever he pleases with it.
Users have zero power on Twitter and no way to acquire power.
@Craktok @atomicpoet I don't believe I said that. I never use the word protest. What I'm saying is to choose your battles. There's no point to protesting if your audience isn't listening. And if he is listening, bear in mind that he enjoys offending and irritating people.
@shuttersparks @atomicpoet I can guarantee you that there are ten times as many sensible people on Twitter than bad actors.
@Craktok @atomicpoet Absolutely. I'd say more. But what good does that do? Users have zero power except the power to leave the platform.
@shuttersparks @atomicpoet and by running away they give more power to musk and his zealots. I’d rather do something than nothing.
@Craktok @atomicpoet I have the opposite view. By staying, you're saying that what Musk is doing is acceptable to you.
Secondly, Twitter as a platform is gone. The only action that can be taken by you is to reduce Elmo's ability to make money or generate income from the platform. You do that by leaving. The smaller his user base the less money advertisers will pay him. The only thing of value that Twitter has is its user base. Take it away.
@shuttersparks @atomicpoet well you can choose where you put your eyeballs, but the rest of the world is still on Twitter.
@shuttersparks @atomicpoet so you’re saying people should never protest? Being afraid is a sorry way to live your life.
