Approaching storm predicted to possibly bring 1-4 inches of snow down to 1000 feet in the L.A. area. I'm at ~900 feet, so it could happen here. I have seen snow before in a non-mountain area of L.A., at least once and maybe twice, though the last time was decades ago. Obviously snow in the mountains around L.A. is not at all unusual, but they're talking about a couple of feet possible there from this one storm.

@lauren We expect a full report with photos if possible. ;-) The fun for you starts tomorrow and runs thru Saturday. Wind on Friday.

@shuttersparks There's unlikely to be much of photo value at 900 feet. Not impossible, but not terribly likely. It has happened before in this area, but not for many decades.

@lauren It is an unusual storm configuration, though. And another coming right behind it, and probably another on into March.

Unfortunately it looks like your temps will be chilly for LA but not cold enough for snow to stick. You might still get a blizzard. Blizzards don't have to stick just fill the air with so much snow that you can't see.

Good luck!

@shuttersparks I think this will be a rain event down here. There has actually been significantly colder weather without snow in the past. The mountains are another story, since snow up there is not unusual.

@shuttersparks Actually, the temps I'm seeing for thu-sat are not particularly unusual for here this time of year. 51/42 52/42 49/36. There have been a bunch of mid-to-upper 30s lows this season, so not really exciting.
