When you think about how long governments have known about climate change, there's been NO FUCKING LEADING WHATSOEVER.
@StillIRise1963 for better or worse (I mean who knows what would have happened) Jimmy Carter was going to make global warming a priority in his second term.
I mean, in 1980 the President of the United States thought it was a priority if not THE priority.
And by 1981 the new President was too busy busting unions, terrorizing people of color and paying off his election win by selling missiles to terrorists to be bothered.
Oh, and lining his pockets with fossil fuel money.
@philip_cardella @StillIRise1963 Well, Carter was a very exceptional politician with his feet in the soil and his education / experience in science and math. Also the second highest IQ of any president.
So, lots of people hated him.
