House has been without power for over 12 hours now. Solar was keeping pace for the first 6. Now down to 80% battery - will make it to daylight no problem. Let the house get down to 55°F (about 13°C,) by the furnace, but have natural gas fireplace going, plus natural gas oven in the basement “apartment” doing some slow cooking. Normally don’t use them, but it’s heat that uses very little electricity.

Internet is down, which helpfully saves some battery. House is currently using 0.1kW. The modem+router use about 0.2kW, so leaving them off is really helping. Also have the travel trailer in the garage as “backup accommodation” being heated by electric heat off the EV battery.

@ehurtley Wow. 0.2 kW is an enormous amount of power for a modem/router. Should be on the order of 15 watts (0.015 kW) or less.

@shuttersparks Yeah… I have fancy high end ones. They’re power hogs.
