This toot is real btw, it’s about how some tech companies plan to build nuclear reactors at data centres so they have enough power to allow everybody to do mass copyright theft via AI.
@randahl Yes, indeed. Thank you.
But the only way this is going to stop is if we stop and corral the Rus.
There is plenty of antisemitism that hides behind antizionism.
Republicans are closely analyzing the points of failure of the Jan6 insurrection and are actively making corrections such as positioning and preparing state legislatures to disregard voters wishes - they intend to select the winner
@EugeneMcParland Yes, Russians doing what Russians do and have done for hundreds of years.
I'm old. A big chunk of my DNA is Estonian. Some of the people who raised me were Born in Estonia, in the "Russian Empire", in the 1800s, and were well educated. They told me many things about the Russians, none of them complimentary.
The Russians are not our friends. They are nobody's friends. They have a unique, almost psychopathic culture.
What's long amazed and impressed me is how a country with such a small economy can have such a large influence on the world. One thing is obvious. The Rus are very smart and able to leverage what little they have into being a world power.
Ukrainian priest abducted and tortured to death
The russian invaders have, reportedly, killed 59-year-old Stepan Podolchak, a #priest of the Orthodox Church of #Ukraine and head of a church in occupied Kalanchak (Kherson oblast). While the occupiers claim that Father Stepan died “of a heart attack”, this was two days after the russians abducted him from his home and took him away, barefooted, and with a bag over his head, having turned his home upside down
@skykiss Yes, well, I'm going to have fun rubbing this in my MAGA friends' faces over the coming weeks. It's just as I foretold when the scandal originally broke years ago.
So what, exactly, was Rudy Giuliani doing with Hunter's laptop when it was in his possession? Hmm.
Republican LIED to FBI about President #Biden & his Son.
The republican made up the whole insane conspiracy & has now been ARRESTED. Republicans are the biggest criminals in American history.
An FBI "informant" has been INDICTED on two counts of allegedly feeding the bureau *false* information about President Joe Biden & his son Hunter during the 2020 presidential campaign.
Charged with lying under other to the #FBI.
Republican Alexander Smirnov, 43, disliked Joe Biden and was arrested in Las Vegas after returning from a trip overseas, according to the Justice Department. The case grew out of the special counsel investigation being led by David Weiss, Weiss had been appointed by then-President Donald Trump as the top federal prosecutor in Delaware.
Republicans fabricated another #BigLie. Holy F*cking hell. Republicans.
Republicans #BIGLIE and GIANT FRAUD.

I’m a bit jealous of the middle of the US for their 2-brood cicada emergence this spring. Billions of them. Singing. I hope humanity will still be around when they sync up again 221 years from now.
I would like to thank in advance all the TV reporters and camera operators who will be sent out to film them.
Testing out the new IQ Demux and Constellation filter blocks in ngscopeclient.
IQ Demux is intended for working with 2D modulations where you have the I and Q values sent consecutively on the same channel. It splits out the interleaved I/Q values to separate channels which you can then feed to the constellation filter.
Of course, the 26 Gbaud PAM4 PRBS I'm looking at here isn't actually a vector modulation, but it's a convenient source of fairly clean test data.
@azonenberg That's a lot of baud. I remember 45.45 baud and still use it occasionally. Then came 110 baud over telephone lines. Whoo hoo! 300 baud was thrillingly fast.
Hahaha. (Yes, I'm old.)
Russia is purchasing Starlink satellite Internet terminals from Elon Musk's SpaceX in Arab countries, the Defense Intelligence Agency reports.
Intelligence indicates that in a recent radio interception, the Russians are discussing relevant acquisition opportunities. One soldier says that the Arabs bring everything: wires, Wi-Fi, a router, and one device costs 200 thousand rubles (about $2200).

Ukraine has shifted from offensive to defensive operations, Syrskyi stated in an interview with ZDF
We must end the war by reaching our borders. No other option is being considered, and there is no other way out;
Ukrainian armed forces do not use the tactic of "meat assaults", unlike the Russian armed forces: "I'd rather leave a position, but I won't allow all the personnel to die.";
Ukraine is protecting Europe as well by providing the most valuable resource — human resources;

@Free_Press So another unprincipled Republican changes course when the wind changes.
(Not that I wanted him to hold his course in this case. Just pointing out the inconstancy and lack of backbone.)
@Free_Press I'll bet the Senate doesn't even bother with it. There's little or no interest on either side. They'll send it to committee and you'll never hear about it again.
But we shall see.
Back before the Reagan Revolution … a third of America had a good union job, our schools were brand-new and well supplied and staffed, college was free, healthcare was inexpensive, and the biggest challenge America had was to put a man on the moon and bring him safely home — there was little demand for a dictator in this country.
… For the majority of white Americans to adopt a strongman authoritarian, first the country had to be broken and broken badly.

While researching cool images for my Victorian pulp adventure #ttrpg setting #Tektoa, I stumbled upon incredible drawings of Maya ruins by British artist Frederick Catherwood. In the 1840s, he journeyed to Central America alongside American travelogue writer John Lloyd Stephens. In an era before film and photography, they helped introduce magnificent ruins of the Maya culture to the Western world. #art 1/2

@Glupinickname Yes, indeed. I've read all that, have been to those places, and have many photos of it up. Fascinating to read how things were in Catherwood's time, and Stephens. Highly recommended. And, if you are adventurous, I recommend going there, touching it, and imagining the largest civilization on earth 1,200 years ago. And, how all that was going on and had been going on for thousands of years, completely apart from and unknown to Europeans.
It's humbling and helps you find your place in the history of humans.
(I lived in Guatemala for 15 years).
