@N0ZB@mastodon.radio @k8ket @megahertz Yes. It's a pleasant relief to hang out with polite considerate CW operators.

Normally I'm willing to force my way into spaces that don't prioritize me, because that's the only way to exist as a citizen of the internet when you're blind. I'll use inaccessible apps and I'll share posts with undescribed images and I'll click unlabeled buttons just to see what they do. I have to if I want to participate in online culture.

But some days I don't have it in me, and this is one of those days, and it's indescribably nice to have a place like this that doesn't expect me to.

@lauren I absolutely agree. Here in West Virginia, the people who constantly piss money away on the lottery are those who can least afford to do so. Lotteries and gambling in general prey on people who don't understand the scam.

@smellsofbikes @reneestephen Exactly. It's hard for ordinary people to get their head around this, around the mindset of a despot. It's entirely foreign because it's psychotic.

@reneestephen This is something I don't think enough people appreciate. Kim Jong Un is perfectly happy being a zillionaire ruler of starving people. They don't care how bad things get as long as they're on top of what's left.

Please tell me again about how Mastodon is harder to use than the site where you have to keep track of how many posts you read each day.

@ajbobo @mmasnick They sure do. Don't ask me how I know. But it's a matter of frequency. Lol.

Whenever people say "the left is always so triggered," remember that one (1) trans woman said she liked to drink Bud Light, so in response, conservatives said they would kill her.

@gwynnion Indeed. Right-wingers have been working hard since the early 1960s to bring this about. It's no accident. It's not something that simply "happened". The civil rights movement is what set it off.

Evangelicals have been played. Turning abortion into a key issue was a conscious strategic decision made in the 1970s to distract public focus from the real goal, which is segregation. "We need an issue to keep the rubes engaged. Aha! Abortion." The Evangelicals were played like a violin and they're still oblivious to it.
