@leswarden @uspolitics Exactly. There are quite a few similarities. Musk's entire focus is on becoming well-known as a "boy-genius". He's achieved remarkable success at this, thanks to the gullibility of the public.

@lovelylovely Hmm, I seem to have misplaced my tiny violin.

So he's whining that nobody wants to kill him? I guess he's never done anything significant that pissed somebody off. He just runs his mouth.

@Deglassco @blackmastodon@a.gup.pe @BlackMastodon@chirp.social This is fascinating information and series of posts, and I thank you for posting it. I'm reading it and have bookmarked it for more reading. I couldn't decide which post to comment on so I picked this one without a reason.

I'm an engineer but I've also been musician since childhood. I love this information.

I've lived in various places including so-called third-world countries and now in Appalachia. I've noticed it's often (but not always) the case that the worse the conditions that people live in the more they know how to have real fun during their personal time and vice-versa. This makes sense to me.

@vk2gpu Ermagherd, it's merse code.

...- -.-- --... ...-- -.. . -.- .-- ..--- .--.

@leswarden @uspolitics Yeah, Elon Musk isn't for free speech, he's just a tool. I wonder if he knows it.

Everyone: Hello, we would like society to improve.

Billionaires: Too bad, go scream into the void instead.

Everyone: Okay.

Billionaires: Also, we have bought all the voids. It now costs $100 to scream into the void.

@alxoe Just curious. It looks like it and these days it's extremely likely there's no copper inside that cable.

@redflag @lovelylovely @dcreemer Your former colonies are imitating this bad habit.

In a democracy you must vote for the lesser of two evils, not the other way around. Haha.

@ChrisMayLA6 The computers in cars with internal combustion engines are a special problem. They use very old chips from 15 to 20 years ago that are no longer made. Brand new ICE vehicles use ECUs designed 20-plus years ago. Old chips have to be special ordered far in advance because the chip fab has to re-tool to make the old technology. Lead-times greater than 12 months are typical. This was the main reason for the automotive "chip shortage". It wasn't the chip maker's fault, nor supply chain problems, it was poor planning on the part of the automakers.

On the other hand, with the rapid expansion of EV sales we'll probably see demand for modern chips increase. EV's tend to be new designs using the latest components and so much easier to source.

Of course, demand for ICE vehicles will diminish in the near future, making it even harder for ICE manufacturers to plan far in advance to lay hands on the old chips. Haha.

@Teri_Kanefield Exactly. Nor is his lawyers' claim of "tearing the country apart" relevant to the case.

@black_intellect Hopefully they have a democracy there and not a city charter that lets the council boot out the mayor and appoint a replacement of their own choice.

@johnb48 Likewise. Yeah, wander around the archive and you'll find all kinds of interesting stuff. But RUSC is where I usually go for my OTR fix.

@mike_k Meh, the RF doesn't know what color it is. ;-) Hah.

Yeah, a Guanella 1:1 balun does not read short. A Ruthroff 1:1 balun, frequently wound on a ferrite rod, does read a DC short.
