@oliphant Oh good. I didn't know there was a term for what I was doing. Spite-boosting. I like it.
@Peace_out_art @jasonkint Sorry. Meant to say defendant, not plaintiff, in my last comment.
Yeah, these class actions always have the same or similar restrictions. The forms don't show the stipulations. You have to read more. Below are the relevant points.
= = =
Your rights are affected whether you act or don’t act.
If you opt out of the settlement:
You can choose to opt out of the Settlement and receive no payment. This option allows you to sue, continue to sue, or be part of another lawsuit against the Defendant related to the legal claims and factual allegations resolved by this Settlement. You can choose to hire your own legal counsel at your own expense.
If you submit a claim or do nothing:
Unless you opt out of the settlement, you are automatically part of the Settlement. If you do nothing, you will not get a payment from this Settlement and you will give up the right to sue, continue to sue, or be part of another lawsuit against the Defendant related to the legal claims or factual allegations resolved by this Settlement.
Unless you exclude yourself from the Settlement, you cannot sue, continue to sue, or be part of any other lawsuit against the Defendant about any of the legal claims this Settlement resolves or the factual allegations on which this case is based. The “Released Claims” section in the Settlement Agreement describes the legal claims that you give up (“release”) if you remain in the Settlement Class. In summary, unless you exclude yourself from the Settlement, you will release any and all claims of any type based on any theory of recovery that are based on, relate to, or arise out of the identical factual predicate as the allegations in this Action. The Released Claims language section is in paragraph 73 of the Settlement Agreement, which can be found at www.FacebookUserPrivacySettlement.com.

In cases like this, part of what the plaintiff wants out of the deal is to never hear anything about it again. Hah.
@rmattila74@mastodo.fi @notsoloud @aral Interesting. Here it's just property theft. Some car theft occurs so that a criminal can use the car for the commission of another crime, like a robbery, then ditch the car. Car theft is also a big business. Cars a stolen and sold to chop shops that disassemble it and sell the parts across the country. High value cars like Lambos are shipped overseas intact and sold in foreign countries.
@morgfair A burden? Of course it's a burden. It's supposed to be. You have to defend yourself, if you can, in order to avoid a greater burden.
@black_intellect Hmm. I know nothing about his qualifications. Maybe he'd be great at the job. But the optics aren't good when someone does this. It always looks like nepotism.
@shana I'm not surprised because I'm big on publishing dense and useful factual content.
@rmattila74@mastodo.fi @notsoloud @aral It would be interesting to ask a lawyer or police officer about how such a case is handled in Finland.
Here in the U.S. it's grand theft, a felony. And the severity is based on the amount stolen. In the case of a Lambo ($300k-$500k), it's 3 to 5 years in the big house, maybe longer, assuming no prior convictions. If you have priors, then the judge will go harder on you.
Which is the best British insult?
Please boost for maximum exposure. This is of vital importance.
@rmattila74@mastodo.fi @notsoloud @aral Except the car thief goes to prison. Big difference.
@shana I guess I shouldn't be surprised that all of my blogs and primary web site are in there, ranked at 388,000.
@jasonkint Yeah, it's silly. I would opt-out and retain my right to sue in the future but I left FB eleven years ago and have no record of my username. Hahaha.

@rmattila74@mastodo.fi @notsoloud @aral When a vehicle is stolen the owner isn't responsible for what the thief does with the car. At least that's the law in every place /country I've lived.
@tristansnell I understand there's a shipload of lawsuits in the works. Not just from Dominion but other voting machine companies, and many individuals who were harmed. So election officials in various states that had to live with death threats, and so on. These lawsuits will be against the parties you listed and others including right-wing outlets that can't even pretend to hide behind the "news outlet shield".

He's trying to ban drag shows because they "sexualize children."
And he's caught...sexualizing a child.
Any Republican calling anyone else a "groom" is actually a groomer. Full stop.
