@lovelylovely Oh, no. What a great band. Just today I was talking about Ernie Isley's guitar style. :-(

Maybe Dennis Hastert as a compromise candidate? You'd get the sex crimes vote, the racism vote, and the felon vote. That's the entirety of the Republican caucus, yeah?

@EALS_Director One of the hallmarks of today's Republicans is pathological lack of shame.

Utility post; not gonna give Musk content when I can help it. Three-year inflation rates since Reagan

@Miro_Collas @mozilla Funny you should mention Meta. Once in a while, a tracker cannot be separated from its ad, in which case the ad is blocked. When this happens, it's invariably a Meta / Facebook ad. Funny how that is.

@billyjoebowers Indeed. Following two people isn't going to create much of a timeline. There are no "promoted posts" to fill up your timeline and keep you engaged. You have to make the first move.

@literatesavant @ingalls Yeah, I've run into this enough times that I've retrained myself for it. Back in the 60s virtually everyone had heard of ham radio and knew that hams could talk directly with other hams all over the world. This is because ham radio was frequently in the news. Every time a disaster struck somewhere in the world, the first news came via ham radio operators. Often, the only communications in and out of a disaster area was by ham radio.

Today, nobody's heard of it. Nor are they aware of shortwave radio -- not aware that one can communicate over thousands of miles using simple equipment and nothing more. No satellites, no wires, nothing. Not aware that they can easily listen to radio broadcasts from countries all over the world, direct, in their living room.

@lauren I went with "better than nothing". Reading there gives me ideas that enable me to solve it myself.

@Teri_Kanefield

I've seen it so often, but it still bemuses me. Why do people blame the Democrats for the Republicans' bad behavior? Why don't they blame the Republicans for their bad behavior?

The Democrats are NOT the Republicans parents. You can't blame the Dems when the GOP acts up.

Republicans are responsible for their own behavior. And they should be treated that way.

Trump tells court he had no duty to 'support' the Constitution as president - Raw Story rawstory.com/trump-wont-suppor

People have been trying to use Threads to follow the news about the war in Israel, and Meta is still wholesale blocking searches on dozens of words, downranking journalism, and does not seem to want news on its platform at all

"Migrants are poisoning the blood of America."
- Donald Trump

Let that direct quote sink in. That quote is from the most popular Republican in the United States.

This should terrify the Hell out of you!

@ai6yr Indeed. DoD has been planning for this since the 80's. They see it as the greatest threat to U.S. security going forward. I agree.
