The House just passed Republicans' bill to add $114 billion to the deficit while making Americans' tax agency less responsive to them, just to put more money in the pockets of the very rich.

I voted NO; this was the final vote count.

Right now the United States House of Representatives is governed by a secret document between McCarthy and a couple dozen other members WHO TRIED TO OVERTURN THE LAST PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

So, just to avoid any confusion, when you run Windows 11, the product you are using is Windows 10. The Windows version is 2009 (which of course doesn't fall between versions 2008 and 2016, duh). So if you are using Windows Server 2022, the product is called 2022 but the version is 2009 because those two numbers seem like the same but they aren't.

The "Windows Current Version" for Windows 11 is 6.3. But don't use that number because Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 were also version 6.3. Windows 8 was 6.2.

Or if you want, just use build number 22621, also known as 22H2. The version 22H2 update is also called the "Windows 11 2022 update" because there never was a 22H1. But at least they changed their naming scheme and didn't call it Fall update because it was spring in half the world when it came out, heh.

Well I did it. I deleted my account. Most of the people I enjoy following is on here. This place is more friendly and accepting. I have posted more on this site then I ever did on the bird site. So I’m depending on you people to entertain and inform me. And I will do my best to post that might make you laugh, think, or puzzle. Peace to all.

Arthur just couldn’t quite get used to working from home.

Well now, that’s a mighty strange thing 😳

A previously unknown, very extensive, low-surface nebulosity near the Andromeda galaxy, M31, seen in the [OIII] emission line at 5007Å.

Discovered by Drechsler et al. in autumn last year using a 106mm refractor, showing again that not all astronomy needs the biggest telescopes 🔭

Perhaps in the halo of M31 & linked to its stellar streams? 🧐

1. Florida English teacher Vicki Baggett is seeking to remove 150 books from school libraries

She says it's her "responsibility to protect minors" from inappropriate content

But her former & current students say Baggett openly promotes racist & homophobic beliefs in class

If you truly want to see crime reduced, you would be hell-bent on ensuring inmates leave prison in a better headspace than when they went in.

If you’re focused, instead, on taking as much from them as possible, you’re not really interested in reducing crime. What you’re interested in, is satiating your lust for revenge.

When the first cases of #COVID was reported on #NavajoNation it was March 16-17,2020. The cases came from the small community of Chilchinbito not far from Kayenta, #arizona

A few days later, President Nez invited me to drive to Kayenta to deliver supplies. Chilchinbito was cut off in order to try to isolate the virus. Where those EMT’s are is the entrance into the community.

Nez went from having COVID town halls everyday, to 2x’s a week then once a week. Tomorrow will be his last town hall.

Telegram, TikTok and Twitter were used to push election fraud narratives in Brazil which led to an insurrection. In the case of Twitter, they cut out the middle man and the CEO himself was posting election fraud conspiracies on the site days before.

Elon Musk fired Twitter's entire staff in Brazil except a few salespeople.

Among those fired: "eight people who moderated content on the platform in order to catch posts that broke its rules against incitement to violence and misinformation."

The gas blowing house at the abandoned Bethlehem Steel plant in Bethlehem, PA (not to be confused with the one in Lackawanna, which I posted earlier today)

Actions to take (my opinion, not official):
1. If you live BELOW any of the canyons or near a flood channel/river below, be ready to evacuate (be aware of routes that may be impacted by flood waters). Consider evacuating EARLIER rather than while there is an astronomical amount of rain moving.
2. DO NOT TRAVEL during the storm; you're generally a lot safer OFF THE ROADS during extreme rainfall (most deaths are from drowning in vehicles in the US).

Guess where the trees are blocking the roads. And given the hour I took these they're not getting cleared tonight. We're expecting more 65MPH gusts again tonight so I'm sure more downed trees & power outages ~ hopefully not 300K homes like last night, 63K of which still don't have power. ~ we got lucky and our power came back on at 4am. The posh people with the bigger tree center-right didn't until 5pm
