This whole article is nauseating. Any newspaper that would legitimize RFK Jr.'s batshit crazy racist conspiracy theories as "skepticism about the scientific and political establishment" must not collect any subscription revenue from anybody.

I'm begging everyone out there who still has a New York Times subscription to please cancel it immediately.

Seems like the purity scolders here on Mastodon have moved on from policing CWs to replies complaining about cross-posting and references to social media posts from other platforms.

Let's explore why this is really annoying. When you hijack a thread to scold the poster not only is it rude, you take the thread off in another direction. This is not cool. If you want to discuss something like cross-posting you are free to make your own post on the subject. Don't be a threadjacker.

Just deleted/deactivated my Twit/Xitter account. Gonna miss all those aviation peeps, but it had to be done.

Any #avgeek #aviation peeps here on the elephant, give me a follow - will follow back!

Hi mappy folks 👋
I just moved here from Twitter, let's connect and see you soon in the #30DayMapChallenge 😄

I find this weirdly fascinating. Some #ants and some #termites have created a demilitarised zone of sorts.

Workers are moving down lines and guards from each group are standing face to face.

@charliejane I'm glad your blinders came off. Warren has been a bigot and racist for decades. Remember that university chair she occupied by pretending to be Native American? She kept the money she stole using that ruse. Never apologized, never refunded the money, never abdicated the prestige.

A Ukrainian flag keeps waving proudly in the building Russia destroyed in Kharkiv today.

The anti-science movement is "organized, it’s well-financed, and it’s politically motivated. It’s doing a lot of damage to the country and to American science and scientists. And now it’s become a lethal force." https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/vaccine-scientist-warns-antiscience-conspiracies-have-become-a-deadly-organized-movement/

I never realized till now…. From another source…

So, I spoke to people getting food at a food bank and here are some things I learned from those in need:
1. Everyone donates Kraft Mac and Cheese in the box. They can rarely use it because it needs milk and butter which is hard to get from regular food banks.
2. Boxed milk is a treasure, as kids need it for cereal which they also get a lot of.
3. Everyone donates pasta sauce and spaghetti noodles.
4. They cannot eat all the awesome canned veggies and soup unless you put a can opener in too or buy pop tops.
5. Oil is a luxury but needed for Rice a-Roni which they also get a lot of.
6. Spices or salt and pepper would be a real Christmas gift.
7. Tea bags and coffee make them feel like you care.
8. Sugar and flour are treats.
9. They fawn over fresh produce donated by farmers and grocery stores.
10. Seeds are cool in Spring and Summer because growing can be easy for some.
11. They rarely get fresh meat.
12. Tuna and crackers make a good lunch.
13. Hamburger Helper goes nowhere without ground beef.
14. They get lots of peanut butter and jelly but usually not sandwich bread.
15. Butter or margarine is nice too.
16. Eggs are a real commodity.
17. Cake mix and frosting makes it possible to make a child’s birthday cake.
18. Dishwashing detergent is very expensive and is always appreciated.
19. Feminine hygiene products are a luxury and women will cry over that.
20. Everyone loves Stove Top Stuffing.

In all the years I have donated food at the Holidays, I bought what I thought they wanted, but have never asked. I am glad I did. If you are helping a Family this Christmas, maybe this can help you tailor it more. It does for me!

I will never get tired of the Jerusalem Post’s #asteroid headlines.

Trump is not in jail now because he has Republican billionaire donors, foreign and domestic, shielding him.

Millions has been spent on lawyers advising witnesses to say "just say you can't recall."

Millions has been given to foundations like the Claremont Institute to harbor the seditious like John Eastman.

Millions has been spent to buy corrupt politicians and Supreme Court Justices.

Millions has been spent on disinformation about covid, climate, and coups.

The road to fascism is lined with moderates and people on the internet telling you to stop overreacting.
