Video released of an elite unit of cops from Louisville Metro Police violent crime unit throwing drinks on citizens and recording it to share with other officers

If you think firing a few “bad apples” will fix the problem: you’re delusional

The system is set up to select psychopaths like these

Imagine how little they think of the people they are supposed to protect to be capable of something like this

The problem is the system, not just the individual

@rombat I am a #pizzahut delivery driver in #sandiego #California. There has been a lot of reporting on this issue that, while appreciated, is inaccurate.

Two PH franchises in CA have laid off all their drivers -1,200 drivers - in LA, Orange County, San Bernardino, Sacramento, and elsewhere. There are many PH franchises, and they are all responding to this differently.

My franchise has not laid us off & calls for a boycott will negatively impact those of us who remain. Thank you for caring!

Ergh, I always find #introduction posts difficult, because I don't know what to say about myself. I guess I'll start with the basics:

I'm a 38 year old Autistic digital nomad, originally from Toronto, Canada.

Two years ago, my wife and I bought a motorhome and moved in full-time with our German Shepherd, Beau. We picked up Zoe, our Husky, while in Las Vegas in the winter of 2022.

I post a lot about my experience being Autistic, as well as off-grid solar power and RVing. I also post a bit about tech and software development, since that's what I do for a living.

When I'm not in burnout, I love to tinker and dabble in a wide variety of interests, such as writing, drawing, playing guitar and making music, renovating and upgrading my RV, photography, game dev, 3D rendering and animation, ... did I miss any? Probably.

Some things I'm proud of:

- I completely rewired my RV to run off-grid from solar and battery power myself.
- I'm a certified scuba diver.
- I've lived in 8 different countries.
- I love learning and I've taught myself almost everything I know

Fairness is one of my most fundamental core values. I believe that all humans are equal and that everyone deserves joy and to live the life they want.

While I generally find being social exhausting, I love meeting new people. I express myself much more easily and comfortably over text than face-to-face or over the phone, even with the people closest to me.

On one hand, I don't know what else to say. On the other hand, I feel like I could probably ramble on forever with no focus at all.

Got any questions? Feel free to ask. 💚

Today is the 131-year-anniversary of Wounded Knee Massacre. The US Government took their land, broke a treaty and guarantee to give them food and supplies, then sent the U.S. Army, who killed 300 Lakota including 60 women & children😓

The US Govt then:
•Awarded 20 medals of honor to the soldiers guilty of genocide
•Refused to pay reparations or build a memorial
•Waited 100 years to apologize

modern society is so divorced from our food sources that most people who eat pop tarts have never actually killed one themselves

Who could possibly have predicted that telling advertisers to "go fuck yourselves" would result in even more advertisers leaving your platform?

Anyone who is asked what caused the Civil War who does not immediately and without prompting list SLAVERY among the key reasons is not fit for any political office.

“Scratch the surface and something far darker is exposed: a white nationalist marketing machine. Accounts like Stop Zionist Hate are part of an even larger white nationalist, neo-Nazi and far-right project: exploiting the war in Gaza as disinformation explodes and a friendly billionaire/social media site owner gives them free rein.” https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc-opinion/elon-musk-israel-gaza-war-antisemitism-rcna131327

Here's my report on Maine at Law Dork: https://www.lawdork.com/i/140153652/and-then-there-was-maine

@RickiTarr
When Lance Armstrong (transphobe and doping cheater) asked Adam Rippon why he was afraid to have the difficult conversation about trans athletes, Adam replied that he wasn't afraid. He wanted the conversation with trans athletes, real trans researchers and people who really cared about women's athletics present.

He went on to say, "I don’t need to hear what the greatest cheater in American history has to say about what he thinks is an unfair advantage.”

Hahahaha!

US citizens: call on Big Tech to Stop sharing abortion data with government agencies. Just asking the companies to stop is unlikely to suffice. We need laws to stop them. To make the correction reliable, those must be laws against collecting the data that could be used to persecute those who have had abortions.

Did you know Monopoly was invented by a woman named Elizabeth Magie in 1903?

Originally ‘The Landlord’s Game,’ it was designed as a protest against the big monopolists like Carnegie & Rockefeller.

But it was Charles Darrow, an unemployed salesman, who eventually sold it to Parker Brothers after playing a version.

Parker Brothers credited Monopoly with saving their company. Magie died in 1948 without recognition. Darrow became very wealthy & his legend lives on. #history

They might not have thought this design all the way through...
