*** Musk boldly lying about the FBI and Twitter ***

Let's make this one really clear. Musk is simply not telling the truth in his new claims that the FBI paid millions of dollars to Twitter to censor posts or otherwise control Twitter content.

The payments were actually reimbursements from the FBI for the costs of servicing routine legally required information requests, as designated by
18 U.S.C. Section 2706.

Stop lying Elon. You're making things worse for yourself and all of your companies.

Mastodon is becoming quite fun. It's like a class reunion. When the G+ gang I hung out with got evicted by Google, we reassembled on a couple of other platforms. Now everyone is starting to show up here. Yippee!

I find myself becoming increasingly more annoyed at people who are both selfish and ill informed. I remember back when folks would sheepishly answer "I'm not into politics, because it's boring" but now every asshole who has an ICDC College certificate of attendance thinks that they're Tip O'Neill, except they're going to lecture you about how vaccines are satanic before trying to cure themselves of covid with cat pee and essential oils.

A partial list of our reporters on Mastodon:
- Suhauna Hussain @suhauna
- Emily Alpert Reyes @Emilyalpertreyes
- Jessica Roy @jessicaroy
- Liam Dillon @dillonliam
- Erin B. Logan @erinblogan
- Sarah D. Wire @sarahdwire

Ill be posting some past work on here, seeing the great response from my current project. This is an 1959 IBM 1401, 1:16 scale, scratch build, 100% hand made

I think the biggest thing about Mastodon that I'm enjoying is the normalizing of dialogue. Questions aren't dunks, they're inquiries to understand better. A perhaps not the best stated phrase is still taken with positive intent. And the atmosphere really does focus on uplifting voices, rather than finding the next target.

All of the above has exceptions, of course, but after all exceptions prove the rule.

Grateful for this growing Mastodon community. I appreciate you. ❤️✊🏽

It strikes me that there is no better example of a “mind virus” than post-WWII Nazism which burrowed into numerous ideologies and cloaked itself in many different ways — e.g Apartheid, objectivism, “anti-communism,” and certain Satanic/occult movements.

Many families have secretly kept the Nazi flame, passing it on through generations until hitting it lucky with someone like #QElon who can help bring it back into vogue.

ONLY TWITTER BLUE USERS SHOULD GET TO SET STOCK PRICES

Tesla’s stock has lost $565 billion in market value since it peaked at more than $1 trillion in late 2021.

This decline is more than the entire current *combined* public market value of:

—Gen. Motors
—Ford
—Toyota
—VW
—Honda
—Hyundai
—Kia

With $100 billion left over.

Enjoy this short clip of the raccoon that is currently trying to catch snowflakes on my deck. 🦝 ❄️

A membership list for a far-right anti-government militia group, whose leader and several members have been convicted of seditious conspiracy against the US, includes current or former employees of the US Department of Homeland Security, the federal agency tasked with defending the nation against extremist groups.

A report from the Project on Government Oversight and the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project discovered more than 300 people previously or currently employed by the DHS listed on a membership list for the Oath Keepers.

Those alleged members include people who have worked for Border Patrol, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Secret Service and other federal agencies under the DHS.

Most of the people identified on the list denied their membership to the group or said their membership had lapsed, though analysts said even the appearance of connections to the group reflects “tip of the iceberg” of the relationships between far-right organisers and federal law enforcement.

Democratic US Rep Bennie Thompson, who chairs the House Homeland Security Committee and the House select committee investigating the attack on the Capitol, said in a statement included in the report that “extremism within our government is always alarming, but even more so in a Department with a law enforcement and national security nexus like DHS.”

The ADL has been compiling information from the leak which is summarized here in a press release:

“As of August 8, the Center on Extremism has identified 373 individuals we believe are currently serving in law enforcement agencies across the country. This number is far higher than any previously identified number of extremists within law enforcement; for comparison, an ADL report released in 2021 identified 76 cases – 73 of which were unique – in which extremists were found serving in law enforcement. ADL identified individuals we believe are currently holding senior leadership positions within their respective agencies, including at least ten chiefs of police and eleven sheriffs.

In addition to those actively serving in law enforcement, ADL identified more than 1,000 individuals who we believe previously served in law enforcement.ADL’s Center on Extremism analysis identified 81 individuals across the country who are currently holding or running for public office in 2022. These individuals run the gamut from local office – mayors, town councilmembers, school board members – to state representatives and senators.

Prior to this year’s primary season, ADL confirmed 42 Oath Keepers-aligned individuals who were up for election for public office in 2022, consisting of 22 incumbents and 20 candidates. As of August 8, 21 of these candidates have advanced to the general election either by winning their primary or having their primary cancelled. 13 of the candidates have lost their primary race. Even more concerning, four individuals have already won their general election.

ADL identified 117 individuals who we believe currently serve in the U.S. military, an additional 11 people who serve in the reserves, and 31 individuals who hold civilian positions or are military contractors. In addition to those currently serving in the military, ADL estimates that one in ten of the individuals in the database previously served in the military in some capacity.”

“In addition, ADL identified 86 individuals we believe are active fire fighters – including several fire chiefs – as well as 19 active paramedics and 31 emergency technicians in the database. The Oath Keepers have used disaster relief to garner positive attention for their group, and these professionals have skills that can bolster these efforts.”

I added an appropriate soundtrack. 💕

ICYMI, the Turkish government paid Mike Flynn $600,000 to steal the 2016 election and spread pro-Erdogan propaganda.
