Start from evolution by natural selection and logic leads to the conclusion that homosexuality cannot possibly be an adaptation. It can only be some kind of error. Possibly a defect relating to genes that serve some other purpose in the vast majority of cases, a common damaging mutation, or a disease.

Evolution severely penalizes anything that reduces reproduction. That's kind of the whole point.
